TAYplan submit Housing Needs & Demand Assessment

During 2013 TAYplan and the 4 constituent councils jointly prepared a Housing Needs & Demand Assessment for the TAYplan area. The purpose of the HNDA is to help better understand the factors that have influenced and are likely to continue to influence the housing market. It also helps to understand the scale of need and demand for affordable and market housing.

Consultation and Engagement in TAYplan area

Planning Aid Scotland have been appointed to assist with the consultation and engagement on the Main Issues Report. It is intended to commence consultation on 21st April 2014. Planning Aid Scotland will deliver a number of workshops providing opportunities to learn and discuss what the key issues are for how places should change over the next 20 years.

Review of retailing and town centres
TAYplan commissioned Roderick Maclean Assoc. to undertake a strategic review of retailing and town centres to help inform the preparation of the Main Issues Report. The final report can be accessed via the TAYplan website publications page. Consideration has been given to the national review of town centres and the issues that could be considered within TAYplan. The Main Issues Report will be considered by the TAYplan Joint Committee in February 2014.

TAYplan pre-MIR youth engagement 2013

TAYplan is keen to engage more young people in the preparation of its next Strategic Development Plan – not least because they will be affected by the outcomes of the plan for the rest of their lives.

During spring 2013, TAYplan planners worked with external support to engage young people in the pre-Main Issues Report stage – the very first stage in the preparation of a new Strategic Development Plan.
