Period for Representations Commences

July 13th, 2011

A FINAL chance to agree, disagree and suggest changes to one of the most important planning documents for more than a decade starts today (MONDAY). The TAYplan Proposed Strategic Development Plan Period for Representations will feature a series of information events across the area from tomorrow (TUESDAY) for the next eight weeks.

TAYplan, the Strategic Development Planning Authority, was set up in 2008 to create a strategy for major building work in Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross and North/East Fife.

The strategy, which will replace existing council structure plans when it is approved by Scottish Ministers, will set out a framework for growth in the Dundee City Region.

The Period for Representations will give local people a last chance to say whether they agree or disagree with any part of the Proposed Strategic Development Plan, letting TAYplan officials know where changes should be made.

Events will take place from 2pm to 8pm in the following places:

  • Dundee – Enterprise House on June 7;
  • Crieff – Strathearn Community Campus on June 8;
  • Forfar – Langlands Primary School on June 9;
  • Cupar – County Buildings on June 14;
  • Kinross – Loch Leven Community Campus on June 15;
  • Arbroath – Business Gateway on June 16;
  • Montrose – Park Hotel on June 20;
  • St. Andrews – Town Hall on June 21;
  • Pitlochry – Fishers Hotel on June 22;
  • Perth – Bell’s Sports Centre on June 27; and
  • Blairgowrie – Town Hall on June 28.

They will provide an opportunity for interested parties to view the Proposed Strategic Development Plan and accompanying documents and discuss any issues arising with TAYplan and local authority staff.

Display stands will also be sited around the region until August 1, the document is available at all public libraries and an online questionnaire is available on the TAYplan portal at http://tayplan-sdpa-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal
