Councillors Back TAYplan Proposed Plan for Submission

February 18th, 2016

A plan for future developments in four local council areas has been backed by councillors.

The TAYplan Joint Committee met yesterday (18 February 2016) and concluded that it will not be making any modifications to the 20 year Proposed Strategic Development Plan (May 2015) following a period of consultation.

Members have approved the plan and accompanying documents for submission to Scottish Ministers by 8th June 2016.  The plan will then be examined by the Planning and Environmental Appeals Division.

Cllr Tom Gray, current convener of TAYplan said: "The purpose of the examination is to independently consider the issues arising from the representations made on the Proposed Strategic Development Plan.”

All information related to the examination will be available through the Planning and Environmental Appeals Division website after 8 June 2016.

TAYplan, the Strategic Development Planning Authority, was set up in 2008 to create an overall planning strategy for development, infrastructure, and environmental protection in Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross, and North Fife.
